have you heard of the Curly Girl (or CG) method? if not, it's a special hair routine made for people with wavy or curly hair. It's basically completely removing (if not then seriously limiting) the use of shampoo. It may sound kind of gross but really it's not, let me explain.

Most advertised shampoos (including all the ones you mentioned above) contain harmful ingredients called sulfates. Mind you sulfates are also what they use in washing detergent. These sulfates rid moisture from the hair causing frizziness and dryness for those of us with curly hair. Another thing to avoid is silicones. These are found in most conditioners (again, in the brands you mentioned above). Silicones build up on the hair, can make it frizzy and can only be removed with sulfates, so as you can see...not so good.

Before starting anything, get out your shampoo/conditioner collection as well as your styling products. Take a look at the ingredients. The most common sulfates are ammonium lauryl sulfate and ammonium laureth sulfate. As for silicones anything ending in ';xane'; or ';cone'; is a silicone.

Luckily there are conditioners without silicones out there. The Suave Naturals collection has a variety of silicone free conditioners which you can wash your hair with (this is also known as co-washing). You'll also need a leave in conditioner THIS WILL PROTECT AGAINST FRIZZ (suave naturals is light enough to work as a leave in conditioner as well) , and a clear gel (optional) for extra hold.

There is soooo much more i could add but you should really check out www.naturallycurly.com they've got so much helpful information on maintaining healthy happy curly hair,

NOTE:

before you begin washing with only conditioner, you have to do one last sulfate shampoo to remove any silicones. When you do the last sulfate wash, condition with your non-silicone conditioner. After this you should be using only be co-washing from now on. If you you really feel that you need to shampoo try and find one with out sulfates in it!

hope this helps tame your frizzy hair!
