My hair is dark brown , and i want to go blonde . . . i recently asked if i should use a bleach , but i was told that it is a bad idea . What im looking for is Blonde hair on the top , and brown underneath . and i have Absolutely no idea , ( not enough money to go to a salon )How Do i Make My Dark Brown Hair Blonde ? The only real way to do it and have it look good. Not some weird orange blond color is a salon. Making a drastic color change like that is something you have to do in steps. You can't just go straight to blond, you have to lighten your hair gradually. You can't just grab a box of blond dye from the drug store. Doing something like that is also pretty drying.

anyway, in about less than a week and friend and me are going to dye our hair. I was going to put in some blonde highlights, but im debating wether i should go to a salon or do it myself (since im only highlighting, not dying)

Try going to a beauty salon academy. If there is a salon professional academy near where you live go there they are really cheap and even though they are students they ahve to run everything by there teachers so it's like going to a salon but at half the price.
