How do you know if a hair product contains ammonia if it doesn't list it in the ingredients?

I want to dye my hair black again and I looked at the active and inactive ingredients and it didn't list ammonia? Do they usually list ammonia? Or does this product not contain ammonia? How do you know if a hair product contains ammonia if it doesn't list it in the ingredients?
Well, it could be listed as ammonium hydroxide?

Unless it states ammonia free (and even then, it may contain ammonia, there are other chemical names and forms of ammonia that they can get away with saying it doesn't have AMMONIA in it, but it has derivatives of ammonia which is more or less the same thing), then you can assume it has ammonia in it if it is a permanent, semi permanent, or demi permanent hair dye.How do you know if a hair product contains ammonia if it doesn't list it in the ingredients?
look on the box or paper instructions for a 1-800.................. number. a stylist
maybe that is ammonia free semi permanent / demi color.

you just want to make your hair darker,it should be fine...unless that you really really want permanent color.
