Have you ever tried any of the American Crew hair products? It can be purchased at most salons, and isn''t expensive either. It's a mens hair line with all different products, but to get the look you want I think you should try the American Crew Forming Cream. It wont leave the greasy shine like the pomade will, and still has a firm hold to hold the style you want. It also smells incredible, like mens cologne.
