my hair has been damaged before from being fried by a straightener. and i never put anything in it to protect it before or after. and its been a while since i have used a straightener and i want to protect it this time before i start doing that again. so what do you use? What's a good hair product to use to protect your hair before you straighten it?
You need to start with a shampoo made for hair that is to be straightened. The stuff in it helps the hair/cuticle relax. Most of the shampoos have same name conditioners to match, like a set. Then you should choose a moisturizing straightening spray, Paul Mitchell makes a few, and other high end ones are comparable. Matrix Bio makes a good one. These serums as they are should be clear like water and if you rub it between your fingers, skin should become soft. These type are best, as foams, colored, or heavy fragrances, leave all kinds of build up on the hair. The moisture in the clear ones wit help prevent singeing/frying. Its also best to add the serum after you wash the day b4(leaving it in hair), or before you blow dry. Shop for products for your budget. Even starting one at a time, or considering other brands, chose the one with salon quality products. Hope this helps! What's a good hair product to use to protect your hair before you straighten it?
BioSilk. I get it at CVS. It is also great on your skin! Only treat the ends or damaged area though. You don't want to look greasy!
tresemme do one, its cheap and great!
Chi Silk Infusion, it is made especially for use with straightening irons. Try to find a ceramic flat iron with tourmaline. I couldn't believe the results.
I have had the same exact problem 2 days ago.
I went to Wal-Mart and bought Loreal Hot Straight. I was only $3.28.
It's in a pink bottle.
it is amazing!! good luck and hope I helped!!
i always use some type of hair serum. I also went through a period that i really didnt put anything in it when i straightened it (due to the recommendation of a stupid stylist) and i ended up damaging my hair so bad that a section of it broke off. I use citre shine fresh fusion, but i normally use frizz ease hair serum. I really just go for whatever hair serum is on sale. As long as the top few ingredients listed on them are the same then they are pretty much the same product. I also use thermasilk shampoo and conditionar. Biosilk is a great product too.
at Sally beauty salon they sell a product to prevent damage to the hair i think it is called silk therapy
