What is the best type of hair product to dye your hair one solid color?

So far L'oreal has not worked, I am trying to dye my hair red if that helps any.What is the best type of hair product to dye your hair one solid color?
If your hair is dark it won't work, you will have to lighten it first, I think L'Oreal do lightening packs, I used one when I dyed my hair dark once and didn't like it.

The best hair dye ive used is definately this loreal one thats supposed to prolong fadeness which is the only one thats kept my hair the same colour over a long time. Or this XXL one ive seen looks good as you want a bright colour and they do bright red, blonde ect. Hope this helps =]

You don't say what color your hair is now. If it's very dark, the red won't show unless you strip all the brown out of your hair first.
