My hair has a little wave to it, but i want something that will really enhance it and there are just so many different products out there that claim to do that. Which are the best ones to enhance the curl? What is the best hair product to enhance curl in hair?
There are millions of products out there, here are a few products you can try that work well, Aveda's 'be curly', I believe they have some other treatments for curly hair too, their phomolliant is good through towel dried hair, then set with a hair spray, another product you might like is Blended Beauty's Curl Quenching Conditioner. Giovanni Frizz Be Gone is good, a tiny dab will do the trick so it lasts forever, it also doesn't weigh the hair down or make it look greasy. Nature's Gate original conditiner used as a leave-in and towel off your hair then apply Kiss My Face ';Upper Management'; gel. Try plain old coconut oil too, generally it's good for your hair and improves shine, but general good condition wil help with curls, put it in before shampooing and then wash out. Generally speaking curly hair responds a lot better to oils than wavy hair does, and it will look fine if you leave some oil in, even a little olive oil should work. You can also use aloe vera gel sparingly in your curls to avoid frizz, just a very cheap tube of the stuff is fine, use it depending on how you want your hair, on wet hair for softer control, dry for more crunchy hold, also if you use it with honey it will be more crunchy, use it with cocoa butter or oil and it'll be softer.
I highly recommend the book Curly Girl, one of the best things about the book is not using shampoo, but it's not the normal 'no-poo' method that a lot of people use, instead she recommends ditching the shampoo and using conditioner alone to cleanse hair. Basically the theory here is that shampoo strips your hair of it's natural oils, this makes it damaged and generally effects overall health, stop using shampoo and your hair is much healthier, grows faster, it's stronger, shiney, easier to manage, and for curly haired people it makes curls much better defined. One other trick that's in the book is to curl small chunks of your hair around your finger, try to look for the natural curl and work with it rather than against it, then remove from your finger and pin up your hair while it's drying with small hair clips, it takes the weight off the ends of the hair so it allows for better curls. What is the best hair product to enhance curl in hair?
There isn't really anything that will make it stand out. It has a lot to do with moisture content -- on the coast, your hair will be more wavy than it is inland.
You can try using an acid rinse (vinegar) after the shampoo. This seems to enhance any curl you do have, but to only to a limited amount. You need to help it a little too. After the shampoo, encourage all the wave to take shape by pushing it into place. Any length on the hair, or very wet hair, will pull the wave out. Brushing through the hair pulls it straight as well. Once dry, it stays that way.
Use some styling aids, of any kind your prefer. They all work, to some extent, depending on what you like. They just make the hair hold the shape when dry.
You can also take strands of hair and curl them around your finger, encouraging whatever shape there is to take form. Do this all over the head. You can form ringlets, if it can, or actually form curls or rolls, and clip them in place. You can make them as large as needed or where needed (just the ends, for example). But once the hair is dry, it will stay that way.
